Policy on ISIS Programming

The ISIS software system is distributed as a ready-to-run set of executable programs and associated files. However, ISIS also provides the capability for users to write additional specialized application programs. Note that the following policies are applicable to users who attempt to write their own ISIS programs:

• We would appreciate receiving reports on the experiences of users who attempt to write their own ISIS programs.

• Visit the Isis Support Center (URL: http://isis.astrogeology.usgs.gov/IsisSupport/) on the web to submit questions and comments.

• We cannot guarantee that we will be able to respond to questions about ISIS programming. The amount of programming support that can be provided will depend upon its relevance to our funded projects or the provision of additional funding.

• We cannot guarantee that we will be able to respond to ISIS support questions about using the distributed application programs when a user site has modified the ISIS I/O routines, ISIS utility routines, and/or the source code for the distributed ISIS application programs.

• We would appreciate receiving copies of new or enhanced application programs that are developed by other user sites. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to evaluate these programs for possible inclusion in future public releases of ISIS.
