planlab - Updates planet information on image labels
The best estimate of a planet's size and orientation changes through
time. This program will update the planet angles on the labels to the
latest orientation based on the time in the labels. This update will
only occur if the cube has not been transformed to a map projection. If
the cube has already been transformed, an error will be reported.

This program will also update the radius of the planet to new values and
correct any mapping information on the labels. The labels will also be
corrected when the direction of positive longitude has been changed.
Three cases are considered when changing the radii or the positive
longitude direction: 1) the wrong planet is on the labels, 2) the radii
are out of date and 3) the positive longitude direction is out of date.
If the wrong planet is on the labels, it is assumed that the image is
not in a map projection and if it is, an error is reported.
WARNING: If the radii change, the resolution in km/pix will change on
a projected image and you may have to reproject the image to the
desired scale before it can be mosaicked.

A third problem handled by this program is the checking of the proper
coordinate system of the SPICE information on the labels. The ISIS
standard coordinate system is J2000. It is possible to receive data
from other sources that is in EME1950. The sun vector is checked to
determine the coordinate system and the planet angles, camera angles,
spacecraft vector and sun vector is rotated to J2000 if needed. If
the image has already been transformed, the labels will not be changed
and an error will be reported.

ParmDescription
FROM
The input cube file name. If the file extension is omitted,
then ".cub" will be assumed.
PLANET
If the TARGET_NAME is wrong on the labels, this parameter
may be used to correct the labels. If this parameter is
used, set RAD=YES to update the radii and positive longitude
direction.
RAD
If RAD=YES, the "planet.sav" file will be checked for the
current best radii and positive longitude direction and
the labels will be corrected. Also, if the cube is in a
map projection, the appropriate mapping parameters will be
corrected. WARNING: If the radii change, the resolution
in km/pix will change on a projected image and you may
have to reproject the image to the desired scale before it
can be mosaicked.
SYS
If SYS=YES, the coordinate system of the SPICE information
on the labels will be checked by testing the sun vector.
If the the SPICE are in EME1950, they will be rotated to
J2000.
ANG
If ANG=YES, the latest planet orientation from the NAIF
files will be updated on the labels.
