dyld error
« on: February 05, 2016, 01:58:45 PM »
I receive the following error on trying to start ISIS on my Mac running 10.9.
dyld: Library not loaded: @loader_path/libicui18n.51.dylib
  Referenced from: /Volumes/BIG_DATA/isis3/isis/3rdParty/lib/libxerces-c-3.1.dylib
Reason: no suitable image found.  Did find:
   /Volumes/BIG_DATA/isis3/isis/bin/../3rdParty/lib/libicui18n.51.dylib: file too short
   /Volumes/BIG_DATA/isis3/isis/3rdParty/lib/libicui18n.51.dylib: file too short
Trace/BPT trap: 5

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Kirby...

There may be several explanations for this.

One is that your download failed to install all of ISIS properly. You could attempt a reinstall.

The second, which is more likely, your external drive is not formatted properly to support symbolic links (providing support for dynamic library versioning), which are special Unix-type files. I suspect your external drive is formatted for Windows, which does not support these special types of files.  For the Mac, I recommend you reformat your drive as Mac OS Extended (Jourrnaled).  Note this will delete all the data on your drive when you reformat so save important data elsewhere before reformatting. To determine the format of your drive, right click the drive in a Finder window and click Get Info.

There may be other explanations but please check this first.

Cheers...
