Description

1) Please change the default for grid parameter MODE=Ground, grid is most commonly used on map products

2) Please change the default values for latinc/loninc to something like 10,10 ....the current default of 1.0 is way too dense for many cases.

History

Tested...works well, nice to not have to change the mode parameter...in terms of documentation, it might not hurt to remind the user in the help for latinc/loninc that if the image lat/lon range is less than the lat/lon increment, then the output will not contain grid lines...one of those compromises; lat/loninc=1.0 too dense...lat/loninc=10 too sparse for high-resolution,single observation images...a heads up/reminder to the user would be 'friendly'....please add this when possible and then I will close this issue!!

thank you!

Changed type from bug to documentation. Original issues are fixed, improved documentation remains. Priority set to normal. Too late for May release; hopefully for August release.

Added the following to the XML documentation.

Defaults: The default mode is GROUND, so the grid will be spaced along
latitude and longitude. Default spacing is 10 degrees with a starting (lat, lon)
of (0,0). Please note that if your image does not overlap the starting point,
the spacing between the edge and the first and last inner grid lines will not
match the spacing between the other inner grid lines. Also note that if the
LATINC and LONINC are too large compared with your image map scale, the lines
may miss your image. If the increments are too small, the lines may be overly
dense.
