kaguyasp2isis - extend ingestion capability to include the NIR2 wavelengths
The application's name was changed to kaguyasp2ascii since it converts a binary file to a tab-separated-value file, not an ISIS Cube.
kaguyasp2ascii will now work with newer-format files. Both reflectances (Ref1 and Ref2,) the calibrated NIR2 data, and the correct QA information will now be output, and the output format has changed slightly (see documentation.)
According to the external reporter, the calibrated NIR2 wavelength data are now available.
Kaguyasp2isis needs to be modified to include the NIR2.

The Kaguya team released a more fully calibrated version of their Spectral Profiler data last November (i.e., one that includes calibration for the VIS, NIR1 as well as NIR2 sensors---previously only the VIS and NIR1 were calibrated). I believe that there was a limit imposed by Janet (who I think wrote the SP ingestion script) on the maximum wavelength of the spectrum to be ingested. It would likely be simple to remove this limit and allow ingestion of the whole spectrum. Looks like the maximum wavelength is ~2.6 microns (2600 nanometers).
I've attached two papers describing the earlier and more recent calibrations.
So someone is asking for this change? Interesting... I used some of the newer data for my LPSC abstract, and I guess word is getting out about its availability.

Update from Lisa:
So kaguyasp2isis works on SP data files (untarred .spc files) from Dec 2013 (only VIS and NIR1 calibrated), but I get the attached error message on files from Jan 2015.

?Note that these later files became available after Janet retired, so we did not include them in our tests. Hopefully it's a simple fix?

SP_SPECTRUM_REF has been replaced with SP_SPECTRUM_REF1 and SP_SPECTRUM_REF2 in the Jan15 file format. These are not publicly documented but according to the PI (via an email from Lisa) the two reflectances represent the reflectance data for highlands and mare, which use different coefficients for photometric correction. Both _REF1 and _REF2 will be included in the output file for inputs with the new file format.

Changing column headings, spacing, and a few other things after discussion with Lisa. The headers, which currently look like: QA1Raw2, will be separated into the separate columns QA1 and Raw2, separated by a tab character.
I'm changing the column headers to be tab-separated, instead of comma-separated, like the rest of the output values in the tsv.
And I'm changing the name to kaguyasp2ascii after talking to Tammy, Lisa, and Stuart.
