Description

The cassini ISS team has released a new version of calibration.

cisscal needs to be upgraded to this new release. It is most important for recently acquired images since the last release (2011).

The new release and documentation is available locally:
/pds_san/PDS_Archive/Cassini/ISS/coiss_0011_v3

This release also includes output calibrated images in vicar format, these might be useful as 'truth' images for app tests and user testing.

Notes:

DoD:

  • SPIKE: Does ISIS support the new dust ring files?
    • Mimic their IDL logic and implement this in ISIS
  • See Jeannie's documentation.

I have applied this version of cisscal to a collection of images.

The input pixel HRS and NULL values are set to 0 in the output. A special pixel input value should be retained in the output. HRS, LRS, HIS, LIS, NULL all should be retained.

Example image:
/work/users/tbecker/Cassini/ISS_Enceladus/NewImagesForGlobal/RawMyTPC/W1500063766_2.cub (input image with HRS)

cisscal output: cal4708/W1500063766_2_cal4708.cub

A second image demonstrates in coming NULLs are also set to 0 in the cisscal output (N1597182985_2.cub).
/work/users/tbecker/Cassini/ISS_Enceladus/NewImagesForGlobal/RawMyTPC/N1597182985_2.cub (input image with Nulls)

cisscal output: cal4708/N1597182985_2_cal4708.cub

minor modification to recover the comment to the output file label:

#Correction Factor Parameters

  • Status changed from Feedback to Resolved

Made the changes for comment, #Correction Factor Parameters is back on the labels. I don't believe the LUT value on ingestion is used for the calibration.

#16 Updated by Cole Neubauer 5 months ago

the directory for the file cisscal uses to get effective wavelength is /usgs/cpkgs/isis3/data/cassini/calibration/efficiency/ the table it uses is na_effwl.tab

#17 Updated by Tammy Becker 5 months ago

The is now a calibration/efficiency/wa_effwl.tab and wa_optics.tab for the Wide Angle camera.
