Description

The Mariner 9 VSFEDR files have two Vicar labels comprising the first two 968 byte records of the file (see Mariner9VSFEDRImageFileFormat.jpg). When processing a Mariner 9 VSFEDR file the ISIS2 program PLANCD is writing out the second Vicar label as the first line of the output image and discarding the last valid line of the image. The second Vicar label starts with EBCDIC text "LONGITUDE", with byte values 211, 214, 213, 199, 201, 227... which can be seen to be the byte pattern of the first image line of every Mariner 9 output cub file from PLANCD.

Mike,
Unfortunately ISIS2 has not been maintained for several years. As a work-around, you might try removing the second label, but be aware this may cause other issues.
