Description

Hallo,

I'm trying to run spiceinit on some Cassini rings' data. After downloading the cubes on the PDS, I run vims2isis, to separate the two channels, and then spiceinit. This last step doesn’t work, even if I select shape=ringplane. I always get the error message “unable to initialize camera model”.

Here is the list of the cubes I'm using

v1643282263_1
v1643281916_1
v1643281569_1
v1643281222_1
v1643280874_1
v1643280527_1
v1643280180_1
v1643279833_1
v1643279485_1
v1643279138_1
v1643278791_1
v1643278443_1
v1643278096_1
v1643277749_1
v1643277402_1
v1643277054_1

I downloaded the first image on your list. After I ran 'vims2isis', I noticed that the TargetName in the Instrument group is "UNK".

The input .qub and detached .lbl labels both have TARGET_NAME=UNK. Spiceinit will definitely fail without a Target body specified.

The following steps were successful under isis3.5.1:

vims2isis from=v1643282263_1.qub ir=v1643282263_1.ir.cub vis=v1643282263_1.vis.cub
editlab from=v1643282263_1.ir.cub options=modkey grpname=Instrument keyword=TargetName value=Saturn
spiceinit from=v1643282263_1.ir.cub shape=ringplane
editlab from=v1643282263_1.vis.cub options=modkey grpname=Instrument keyword=TargetName value=Saturn
spiceinit from=v1643282263_1.vis.cub shape=ringplane
