New User Cannot get software to run
I'm a new user trying to run ISIS3 on macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.2. I've installed ISIS3 using the java-based installer (newest version is installed). I've read and followed the instructions for both installation and have gone through the Introduction to ISIS tutorial. I've set $ISISROOT to the appropriate spot where the isis folder is located on my computer. When I type the command /Applications/Isis/isis/scripts/isis3Startup.sh isis3 into bash, nothing happens. When i type qview, I get the error "command not found". I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Please can someone help me?

It looks like the start up script did not modify the environment for the shell running in your terminal window. When you run the start up script you need to proceed it with a ". " (i.e., a period followed by a space). That causes the commands inside the script to modify the environment of your current shell, otherwise all to settings the script did just go away when the script exits. Also, the script does not take any arguments, so it ignored the "isis3" at the end.
Give that a try and let us know how it goes. If it works please close this issue.
