Description

Hello!

If I run the following commands in a cube:

spiceinit (using my own shape_model) > camstats > phocube (localemission=yes), I can see in the local emission band I get a better resolution than when I do:

spiceinit (using my own shape_model) > camstats > mosrange > cam2map > phocube (localemission=yes)

In other words, if I obtain the local emission band using a projected image the resolution is much worse than a non-projected image. Why? How could I avoid it?

Thanks!

Juan,
If your cam2map used a similar resolution as the raw camera image, then the resolutions should be the similar. Example: The raw camera image has 1m/p resolution and the cam2map projected the image to 1m/p. If they differ the resolution will differ.

NOTE: Getting the emission angle from a projected cube uses roughly twice the math necessary to get it from an unprojected cube, so there will be some accuracy differences.
